Though when I let Carlos know our concerns he was there the very next day to clean up and inspect the job. Carlos is very attentive and approachable. "Jack was absolutely incredible. He and his crew - shout-out to Javier, my new favorite foreman! - did an impeccable job of a full-replacement of the traditional two-piece Spanish barrel tile roof on my historic 100-year-old home. This included adding 3 new skylights, and coordinating around a concurrent solar installation. He is absolutely the one you are looking for if you have a higher-end property and want a high-quality, design-led result - but at an exceptionally competitive price! From the get-go, his vibe was much more forthright and much less slimy than so much of the competition out there - he wasn't pushy, he kept it simple, and he didn't condescend to me (a true rarity if you're a woman - iykyk!) I solicited 12 quotes for this roofing project in total, and Jack was the one. This is NOT a salesman type who rocks up with too much cologne and perfectly coiffed hair (and is obviously never seen again once you sign the contract) - Jack is the business owner, but he is also the one who gets up onto the roof to check out progress, to help with measuring, to run inspections, do the water test at the end, and even help me hose everything off on the last day. Communication was extremely easy, and throughout the process, Jack was always down to come visit the site and have a look at something whenever I needed. He is great over text, and is happy to both send and receive photos as the work is ongoing. In addition, Jack and Javier were both happy to keep me involved as much as I wanted without ego or assumption. I am very hands-on, have some construction experience, and had a lot invested in this project - so I hovered around plenty. But where other crews might have found this an irritation, Jack's response was simply to calmly ask if I wanted to come up onto the roof as well. Which I did! With his and Javier's help, I was able to feel fully involved and in control without any issue throughout the entire process - I felt safe as well as included. Most importantly, he kept his word throughout the whole project. This was a complex one; two-piece tile is by far the most complicated roofing type, I was installing brand-new solar panels with a separate company and crew he needed to coordinate with, and I made things even worse by deciding halfway through the project that I wanted to add a few skylights into the mix. Jack took it all in stride, gave me a shockingly fair price for the skylight install, and promised repeatedly that it would look perfect when I was worried about how it would work with the tile. Even when I had some issues with how some of it turned out, there was no quibbling - they came back, had a look at what I pointed out, and completely agreed with me. The whole crew was back the next day to redo the parts I wasn't happy with - because Jack was fully prepared to honor what we had originally agreed upon, even if it meant redoing work that another contractor would have insisted was fine. Not once did he ever try to pass the bill for it onto me, or coax me into letting it go as "close enough" - he promised me that it would be beautiful, and he made it happen. The integrity and commitment was truly a gift to work with. I am extremely pleased with the end result, which is beautiful everywhere you look. If you're looking for someone honest, detail-oriented, well-organized, and above all just a real human being who wants to do the work and do it well - look no further."

"This was my second project with HEXAGON CONSTRUCTION and by far the largest and most complex. (Replacing an old, clay tile roof on a three story house is no job for a rookie.) HEXAGON’s owner, Eli Vatkin, is what everyone should be looking for in a contractor. He’s knowledgeable, reasonably priced, trustworthy, responds promptly to any concerns that you have during the project, keeps you apprised of its progress, finishes on time, and generally aims to please. His contracts were straightforward and “by the book.” On top of that, he’s a genuinely nice guy. Rarely will you find all these qualities in a contractor—and I’ve been around long enough to know. "

"They came out, inspected the roof and provided a quote. I signed off on the contract and was told that it would be 7-10 days for the materials to come in and that we would get a call to set up the repair appointment. Two weeks later we'd heard nothing and when I called I was informed that they actually could not do the repair. This had been determined within two days of my signature on the contract and I NEVER received any kind of notification. So now, the roof is still leaking and I'm back to square one. While they were pleasant to deal with, the lack of communication is completely unacceptable."

"I was tasked with some repairs on my parents house that had been unoccupied for 16 years. The roof had a leak (with severe drywall damage inside), the gutters had come down in places and there was a termite problem. I met with numerous contractors and exterminators and finally (after advising parents) chose Nikki with Dr Roof for the replacement of the under-layment and broken tile for the Tile roof (house in Stevenson Ranch CA). Nikki is so professional and sent pictures and kept me informed every step of the demolition and replacement process. Since I was at the residence, I didn't even really need that because I watched over much of the work, but still she went "above the call". Then as other projects were needed, she had contacts for extermination, facia replacement and painting, eve trough replacement and interior house work. I went ahead and contacted other contractors and vendors for those services, but in every case Nikki's contacts were better (or at least similarly) priced. And I am glad I went with her suggested repair people - they too were all very professional (and in no way associated with her, she just recommends them as she's been in the business 27 years and knows reputable, quality contractors). And in every case the other people I had on various projects sang Nikki's praises. She also coordinated the timing for all these contractors to do their work (obviously some things like facia have to be replaced and painted before Eve troughs installed, etc.) Dr Roof overall did a great job. They kept the place neat and I thought their underlayment was the best quality of any of the contractors I met with ( and I got other quotes from companies / individuals). There is still more work to do on the yard and in this house (projects for next year after bank account recovers from these projects - ha! ha!) Nikki will be my first call when looking for additional work on this house for my parents."

"I had a horrible experience getting a new roof from HomeRenew360's project manager Idan Mizrahi. My contract called for closed-cut valleys, but Idan did open-cut valleys instead w/o getting my OK first. Idan said if I wanted closed-cut valleys, I would have to pay to have the roof ripped up and redone. That's a lie, because every contractor knows you can't make a change like that w/o getting the homeowner's OK first. Several rafter tails on my garage were obviously rotted. I asked Idan about them, and he said "that's painting." That's another lie, because the roof rests on those rafters. So now I have a new roof resting on rotted rafters that should have been replaced/repaired after the old roof had been taken off. I trusted Idan and got burned. At the end of the project Idan said he had to charge me extra $ for lumber. I showed him in the contract where it said wood would be replaced AS NEEDED, not as needed up to a certain amount. Stay away from HomeRenew360 and Idan Mizrahi!"
