"We had a need for a new front walk and I was struggling to find a contractor that would do the job right. I had quotes from people that would not even put in a stone base or would not put in enough base material. I was also finding the prices to be all over the map. Later on during this process I decided to have a patio added behind my garage. The space was kind of a dead area and always had trouble growing grass there. I had some companies reestimate for the patio addition. Many came back with prices that seemed high and suspect. Others came back with very high prices and then a day or two later lowered the price mysteriously by quite a large margin. It made it difficult to find someone I could trust. At the end of the day, price aside... I just wanted the job to be done correctly. Finally Jon reached out to me and we coordinated a time to meet and discuss the project. Jon adjusted the estimate accordingly when I decided to make the patio bigger than originally intended and was prompt. The most important part for me was Jon's plan used 5 inches of base material that no other contractor went as thick. I verified this during the job and it is indeed 5 inches sometimes a bit more. Jon also did the saw cut joints and made sure the slab was properly pitched for drainage. The 20 years of experience in his craft was also a bonus. Furthermore Jon's price seemed fair and reasonable to me. We communicated back and forth and finally in early June he was ready to start. He drove to my property and I signed the estimate and he started a week later. He even worked on a Saturday Fathers day weekend which he did not have to do to make sure all the forms were set and stone was spread and compacted. During the day of the pour he worked with two others. All were hard working and you could tell really knew what they were doing. After a couple days he came by to wash residue off the new slab and clean up. They regraded when the dirt was backfilled around the new slab. Jon had some great suggestions during the project to really make sure we ended up happy in the end. All the suggestions were top notch. The final product turned out beatifully and we are extremely happy with it. It did take a few weeks but keep in mind with projects like this you have to work around schedules for stone deliveries, concrete deliveries, mother nature etc. However, Jon handled all of this professionally and communicated with me along the way. I highly recommend Concrete Jon for any masonry project you may have. We will certainly be calling him again when it is time to reseal our new patio and walk... We will also be reaching out to him when it is time to redo our garage floor or for any other masonry work he performs. Easily grade him a 10/10."
