"To help us meet our budgetary goals on this project, he worked with us on a custom design with IKEA cabinets and several of our own purchased appliances. He oversaw several subcontractors including ceiling work, framing/structural work, installation of ceramic tile, plumbing. I brought in my own HVAC subcontractor. He did electrical work and finish carpentry. He and his twin brother did the IKEA cabinet mounting and base cabinet framing with an eye to precision and accuracy; he also framed out our pantry project to a high level of finish and recommended dimensions for pantry doors for a good final design. He was quick to fix a couple of minor edits (outlet placement, drawer functionality with base cabinet infrastructure) to ensure we were happy with the final results. "Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. "Sears' package of services allowed me to worry very little because they coordinated all the trades. Sears has a longstanding reputation for standing behind their products, something I had not found to be true with other contractors I had used in the past. Thecarpenter/job coordinator who did the refacing work was wonderful to work with, making minor modifiations as necessary to fit my needs.  I had not originally intended to purchase new appliances, but Sears offered me such a great discount that I added a new cooktop, double ovens (which required some cabinet modifications), and a dishwasher, which were installed by the carpenter.  He also coordinated the quartz countertop and flooring installations. All of the work Sears did was well done and professional. After the job was completed, I noticed that a door in the den that had to be cut off to accommodate the new flooring was a bit rough, and they sent the carpenter back to fix it within a week. I was somewhat concerned that I would not like the laminate used to reface the wood cabinets, but it has turned out to be very attractive, more durable than wood, and easy to clean.  No one can even find the seams in the quartz countertop or the Congoleum flooring, so I feel that their workmen are very experienced and skilled. I not only would recommend Sears to others, I would use them again for other work."
