Absolutely terrible experience. Sadly, the VA Regional Office in Houston paid him in full and denied me the opportunity to contest his outright lies about the asphalt damage. I shudder to think what happens to my fellow disabled Veterans who lack the background I have in electrical work, painting, etc. when this contractor does VA funded remodeling in their homes. I’ve had to involve VA Headquarters in Washington DC on these issues. I am a longtime Veterans advocate. Travertine is a natural limestone cut into slabs and processed into tiles. In contrast, porcelain tiles are a form of ceramic made to mimic the look of natural stone. Travertine is porous and less durable than porcelain, which is extremely hard and resistant to scratching and water. Natural stones like travertine are also more expensive than ceramic tiles.
