"My problem is the invoice. It was changed to reflect an increase by $81.00 plus tax. The diagnostic was quoted to me as $139.00 plus tax on two different occasions. The additional $81.00 charge was to “test breaker” which is apparently not included as part of the diagnostic process. The technician turned the breaker switch on and off, that is all, with nothing connected to the breaker panel to make any reading. That is what cost $81.25. I was told by the technician I could pay by check. I have no checks, but, if I had given a check to the technician right then it would’ve been $139.00 plus tax. That’s the billing he showed on his tablet and what I signed for with NO indication of any additional costs. I understand additional costs but we’re supposed to be informed beforehand when there are or may be additional charges. That didn’t happen My heating definitely works now but I don’t have a clear understanding of what he did. I had already checked my breaker panel several times to make sure the switch was on when the problem started. He told me my thermostat in the living room might need to be replaced. Again the only “test” for the breaker panel was turning the switch off and on with nothing connected to give any sort of reading. He definitely tested the heaters using whatever gauge he connected to the heaters and told me they were old but getting sufficient power."

My first interaction was in 1999 when they installed windows throughout my house. They are still in excellent condition. I might note I called them over 20 years later to inquire on how I could repair a broken slider and they sent someone right out, charging a very nominal amount to repair it. In 2020, I needed to replace my hot water tank, and the extremely knowledgeable Christy presented several options, answering my many questions. I settled on one with a booster that seemed to best fit my needs. Finally, in December 2023, I purchased a new gas furnace from WES. I had a minor issue with a fan switch and they responded quickly to rectify the situation. Within the past two months, I seemed to be having an issue with my thermostat (something they had not installed), and the manager, Greg, came out twice with his crew to explore the problem. Today they installed a new thermostat FREE OF CHARGE! Their excellent response and customer service is beyond any company I have hired. And I particularly love that they are family owned and have been around for decades. Their employees seem to be there for the long haul, which speaks highly of the owner. Running a window air conditioner to cool a small room often costs less than $4 per day, making it cheaper than central air for single-room cooling. Window AC repair costs between $110 and $390, with most people paying around $250. Parts cost between $2 and $150, with the rest going toward labor, at around $30 per hour. The occasional one-off repair or a routine AC tuneup cost $75 to $200. Servicing can keep your AC running in good condition for several more years before you need to pay for a replacement unit.
Window AC units last eight to 10 years when installed and maintained correctly. High-quality models last up to 20 years with proper care and routine maintenance. The unit’s longevity depends on its construction quality, regular cleaning, and electrical safety inspections.
