"Ryan and his guys Kevin and Alex were so terrific that I've been raving about the job they did and are happy to recommend them for bathroom renovations to others, as people I talk to have said they've had really bad experiences with other contractors. I continued feeling positive for several weeks until one day I saw that the ceiling in my entryway was leaking - AGAIN - the very reason we had demolished and decided to redo the bathroom. My heart sunk and I panicked. We already paid the full bill and left a positive review. What if they didn't help us? Well, I did not need to worry. I took a photo and texted Ryan and called him. It was on a Saturday afternoon. He said they'd be there Monday morning. He then texted and asked if we'd want them to come out the next day (Sunday). The guys came and didn't give us any attitude or anything at all. Kevin and Alex were super pleasant as always. They came, opened up a hole in the ceiling, figured out it was the toilet leaking and went to Home Depot. I was very relieved it wasn't the shower because I was super nervous they'd have to rip the whole thing up. Fortunately, it was just that the old pipes to the new pipes didn't transition and connect securely enough so they tightened it, tested it out, made sure the leak was gone, and then all in the same day - they put dry wall back, painted and cleaned everything up. And now there's no leak, and I'm SUPER happy again. I honestly cannot believe how immediately Ryan responded, how quickly they came out, and how rapidly they resolved the problem - all without ever giving me any headache. So, if you need a bathroom renovation done and you also want someone who is trustworthy and sticks to their word and is willing to make sure they've done a good job so that you're happy even after a month goes by - go with Fuqua. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ensures equal access and usability for individuals with disabilities. For example, people in wheelchairs or using walkers should have reasonable physical access to public spaces, like sidewalks, businesses, and government buildings. Accommodations and building modifications to achieve ADA compliance may include entrance ramps, handrails, and wider door openings.
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires doorways to be at least 32 inches of clearance to provide reasonable wheelchair access. It’s not that the doorway itself needs to be 32 inches wide, as the door hinge and other hardware may reduce the actual clearance by a few inches. In most cases, the door frame needs to be wider than that so that a person has at least 32 inches to pass through when the door is fully open. Most wheelchairs measure 25 to 36 inches in width.
Along with the cost of widening doorways, you may also invest in several other common house alterations and modifications. The average total cost to build a handicap-accessible house ranges from $700 to $8,000, depending on what changes you want to make. Adding grab bars and handrails can cost up to $500 while installing a stair railing costs $900. Installing a stair lift costs $1,500 to $5,000, whereas installing an elevator costs as much as $60,000. Other changes may involve lowering thermostats, remodeling bathrooms, widening hallways, and installing wheelchair ramps.
