"Do not hire or trust this contractor. There's a reason he's cheap. He pulled the bait and switch. I caught him installing the wrong shingles (worse quality and completely different brand than in our contract). Since then, he's refused to reinstall the correct shingles and has refused to register a warranty for the lower-grade shingles he installed, which is also in our contract. He also told us he was certified with a specific shingle company and was not. He has told at least 18 lies/untruths which I have documented. Two major shingle companies (CertainTeed and Malarkey) got involved in this and both said he misrepresented himself and uncertified him or are in the process. He refuses to make a reasonable price adjustment or fix his mistakes. We are stuck with some roof materials only 60 MPH wind resistant and grade 3, rather than 130 MPH and grade 4 as specified in our contract."

I was amazed. He also sent pics as the work was being completed. He is first class and stays in direct contact with customer so there is now miscommunication. We paid him 1/2 upfront and the remainder the day of completion. This was a small job for him and I'm grateful he took it on for us.
