"Rogelio and his team were awesome!! They painted all of the high traffic areas in our house over several days. They provided valued guidance on colors and paint types throughout. The walls look amazing, and they protected the floors and furniture and cleaned up every day. We are very happy with the results and will definitely be calling them again for any future work."

"I had a GREAT experience with Williams Painting! They came in and provided a competitive quote but I chose them because of the outstanding reviews they have. Now, please consider this another outstanding review. They arrived on time, carefully reviewed the work, took time to move thibfs around and carefully cover my furniture and they just worked. I had 3 rooms, they had 3 people and within 7 hours of arriving I heard them cleaning up. Such crisp corners and great coverage of the walls, they touched up my crown moulding....just perfect. I couldn't be happier and they purchased paint for me and saved me money! Highly recommend!!!"

"Elmer and his crew are true professionals and do excellent work. They arrived at my house by 7:45 a.m. every day and worked 12-14 hours continuously with only a short lunch break. He finished painting my house in 6 & 1/2 days (estimated time was 7-9 days). They take great care in details and pride in their workmanship. Very respectful and hard-working crew. I have recommended Elmer to several friends and scheduled to have him return in the summer to paint my kitchen cabinets. I would highly recommend this company to other people!"

"I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding services provided by the handyman Frank Fawzi from A1 Repairs and Remodeling, whom I hired through the Angi platform on 13 March 2026. Mr. Fawzi was initially hired to repair a wooden bed with a loose slat assembly. This furniture repair was completed, and I was charged $225 for the furniture repair, $150 for refitting the slat assembly plus $75 for replacing one broken wooden plank. After completing this work, Mr. Fawzi stated that he also performs general residential repairs, including plumbing and electrical work and if I had any requirement for home repairs, I could reach out to him. Based on this representation, I asked whether he could repair a non‑functioning dusk‑to‑dawn sensor for the outdoor light at the front of my townhome. Mr. Fawzi agreed to perform the electrical repair for $150. He replaced the dusk-to-dawn sensor and I performed a brief test by blocking light to the sensor with my hand, which appeared to show the dusk-to-dawn sensor was functioning at that time. He charged me $150 plus $25 for the parts. I paid a total of $400 for both projects via Zelle. Shortly after Mr. Fawzi left, the dusk-to-dawn sensor began malfunctioning turning the outdoor light repeatedly on and off. I contacted him by phone and text to report the issue. He returned and attempted additional troubleshooting, including installing another sensor and replacing the outdoor light bulb with another light bulb which he asked me to provide, but was unable to resolve the problem, the outdoor light would keep turning on and off. Given that the electrical issue remained unresolved, I requested that the dusk-to-dawn sensor and the outdoor light be restored to their original condition, I told him I will find another professional to do the job and asked for a refund for the electrical work. At this point, Mr. Fawzi became argumentative and unprofessional. He refused to issue a full refund, offering only $75 of the $175 charged for the electrical work, despite the fact that the repair was unsuccessful. When I objected to this, he became visibly angry, abruptly left my property, and did not issue any refund. As a result, I have suffered a financial loss of $175 without receiving a completed or functional repair. In addition, Mr. Fawzi abandoned the job without restoring the outdoor dusk-to-dawn sensor panel and outdoor light fixture to their original condition. He left the sensor panel and light fixture open, creating a safety and weather‑exposure hazard. I was forced to reassemble the fixtures myself. Only one screw was found on the ground for the sensor panel , and a second required screw was missing, requiring me to temporarily secure the sensor panel with tape. This experience reflects a serious lack of professionalism, accountability, and workmanship. The electrical work was not completed, the issue was not resolved, no refund was provided, and the job was abandoned in an unsafe and unfinished state."

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Sterling, VA

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
