"My wife (76) and I (75 this November) are just ordinary home owners who, having sold our home of 42 years, are now living what is probably the last phase of our lives in this three bedroom condominium. In actuality, what all this has to do with our overhead garage door system is simply that we bought this piece of real estate basically with the promises and understandings that all mechanical, electrical, plumbing and appliance systems described in the sale documents would be, at lease reasonably operational and functional. Well, nothing could have been further from the truth! Now, I don't want to call anyone a "liar," but, perhaps, as a bare minimum, someone could be accused of a "prevarication" or two... Nevertheless, suffice it to say, that much needed to be done at our expense, just to bring our new home up to "code," in electrical and plumbing," never mind any thought of "upgrade." All of which in the course of things, leads us to the Chamberlain garage door opener. It seems that while servicing our remote devices, (3 @ $419.95 total), something happened to overhead light which worked just fine before but not after the service. So, naturally, the following week, I called the CT Garage Door Service office to report the problem to the dispatcher/customer service coordinator (Rose-stationed in North Carolina), but here's where the folks at CT Garage Door begin to shine. Now, I have been in and around the construction industry for about 40 of my 60 years of working. (I started selling soft drinks at the race track at the California State Fair when I was 12 years old. My dad had to sign my "green card" for me to work legally, and that was 62 years ago. I've been working ever since.) In this story, the point is that I have learned something about a lot of diverse things, some related and some seemingly unrelated, but all useful in a world of knowledge. Frequently, the challenge is to quickly and efficiently assess whether what I know, or think I know, has any productive, positive or useful bearing on the reality of the moment or if it would be better for me to just "pass" on whatever is right in front of me for now and move forward to the next opportunity, if there is one, but above all I should not waste my time. That, with the talents God has given me, is really all I have to give, and if I, to the best of my ability, do my very best to His Will every day, one day at a time, then I will have lived a very successful, productive and probably very satisfying, happy life. And that wouldn't be bad at all..."
