"Bottom Line: This is the first time we have used this company, and they did excellent work for a reasonable price, and more importantly, built a huge amount of trust with the customer. Communication: Scheduling the initial estimate was easy, but the back-and-forth communication required to finalize the many detailed options was a bit slow; however, the owner Scott Halle interceded and timely communication continued throughout the rest of the process. Scoping Work: This is where Zen Windows really excels, primarily because of the vast knowledge of James Bond. We wanted to replace the single door with side transoms with something that would maximize the opening space. James expertly walked us through the options with cost and wall modification comparisons. In addition, the header above the current door was swelling and pinning the door, and James evaluated the issue, likely water seeping down from an unflashed deck, and provided peace of mind his guys could fix it on site during installation. Quality of Work: Frankly, 75-80% of contractors fail here for three primary reasons: a horrible handoff from the product specialist to the onsite project foreman, project foreman and workers making assumptions about details vice asking the customer, and lack of quality detailed work. The foreman excelled in these areas ensuring we were on the same page for various details such as casing, caulking, and external trim. In addition, he completely replaced the rotted wood structure above and along the sides of the door and added customer-provided insulation where there were gaps. To keep the project on track, they brought in another expert worker and management arrived to ensure the quality of work was high. The end product was beautiful. Pricing: Price was the best of three highly ranked Angie’s List companies. Zen Windows’ expertise, willingness to explain the details of the project, timely communication, and excellent work took the hassle out of this project."

"Love our new Grand View Windows from Window Nation 17 Windows and 1 Sliding Glass Door We did quite a bit of research, explored a lot of companies and choose Window Nation for our project. And we are happy we did. The whole process from presentation to installation was easy and efficient. Reza arrived at our house on time for the presentation. He inspected and measured our windows and then launched into the presentation. Reza is knowledgeable about the Window Nation offering as well as the products offered by his competitors. As mentioned, I did some research and had an idea of the features that we wanted and what we should pay. Reza presented the Window Nation Grand View line, which meets our feature requirements, and after a bit of back-and-forth negotiation we settled on a price that was within our range and fair to us both. After signing, Reza described the next steps and set expectations. Overall, the presentation took only about an hour and was relatively painless, with no high-pressure tactics. Several days later, Mike came by to inspect our windows and confirm measurements for the build specifications. This took only about a half-hour. Mike answered some questions about the installation process and said that the windows and door could take up to 6 weeks to build. Imagine our surprise when we received a call a week later to schedule our installation. On installation day, the three-man team arrived on time. They introduced themselves and the team lead, Ted, described the process and then they got right to work. They tarped the paths to all the windows to protect the floors. They were very careful and respectful of our house. The entire team was friendly and polite and experienced and highly skilled. You could tell that they’d done this a time or two. The outside trim work is fantastic and the inside finish work is great. All 17 windows and the sliding door were installed in a single day. Ted went over the operation of the windows and door. The windows and door look and function great. We couldn’t be happier. If you are considering a window or door replacement project, we strongly recommend that you engage Window Nation. "It was time to replace my roof and I requested several estimates from roofing companies. I selected Marshall Roofing Siding and Windows. It was not the cheapest estimate but the estimate assessment by Mr. Chris Butler, of Marshall Roofing, was the most thorough. Mr. Butler inspected the roof, went into the attic (and found a bathroom vent venting into the attic instead of outside), went into my screened in porch to determine what kind of nails to use so that they would not come through the tongue and groove ceiling and he noticed some old satellite dishes that could be removed. Marshall roofing updated the proposal several times with all of my concerns and additions. This is great customer service! When it came to choosing a shingle color, we struggled to find the right color. Mr. Butler kindly offered to bring out additional shingle samples to us on a Friday afternoon. Again, above and beyond customer service. Mr. Butler also worked with us to find and install an attic fan specifically designed to be quiet when running. The job started promptly on time and was finished in two days. Mr. Butler came out as the job was wrapping up and when the crew finished packing up, on his own, he did a second magnetic sweep around my house to find any nails that may have been missed during the magnetic sweep performed by the crew. Again, great customer service! We are very happy with the workmanship and customer service that we received from Marshall Roofing and would highly recommend their services!!"

"It went exceptionally well from beginning to end. My contact with the company was through Chris and as I told him when the job was completed, it was the BEST experience I ever had with a contractor - and I have had more than a few contractors over the years. I received quotes from 2 contractors to install the window, and while Clifton charged more, I got more. Chris put me at ease from the very beginning about the install and possible water problems; it was obvious that this wasn't Chris' first install. He spent time with me going over all my questions and explaining in detail the project and how it would be done. He recommended some additional work involving drainage and landscaping and spelled out the pros and cons for each. He covered everything and when I got his proposal, it was all spelled out with options noted and additional costs. I got to pick what additions I wanted and how it would impact the cost of the contract. His crew showed up on time each day and worked hard from beginning to end. They kept me informed each step of the way and took care to keep the work area clean and safe. I was super impressed with their attitudes and friendliness. And most of all, I was super impressed with the professionalism of their work; the project totally exceeded my expectations. I am so glad that I opted for the more expensive contract in this case; it turned out so well for me. I wouldn't hesitate for one minute to have these folks do work for me again - they are really super!"

"The salesman was late. The person taking measurements missed a window rushing before his vacation. Which in turn delayed our project 2 weeks. The installers damaged our new porch and installed 5 defective windows. We have had 0 updates on how our windows and home will he repaired but we have received numerous. Text, emails, and posted mail begging for 5 stars including a gift card as a thanks. It has now been over 5 months and we still have windows that need to be replaced and Window Nation has fraudulently told the finance department the job is complete so we now need to pay for a job that is not completed. Avoid this company if possible."

"While I appreciate the company's attempt to rectify initial issues, our overall experience with this solar installation was unfortunately very unprofessional. The initial installation team demonstrated a lack of respect for our property, damaging plants, leaving debris (including an orange cone), and inappropriately using our private bathroom despite a readily available public restroom on the premises. Following my initial negative review, the company offered a Home Depot gift card as compensation, which wasn't particularly useful to us. They also offered to address some unrelated roof repairs they noticed, but I questioned why these weren't addressed during the original solar installation. Scheduling follow-up work proved equally frustrating. An appointment was scheduled for Wednesday, but the crew arrived a day early on Tuesday without prior communication. While I appreciated them attempting to complete the work ahead of schedule, they left the roof partially finished overnight, exposed to potential weather damage. Furthermore, the crew damaged another plant box during the Tuesday work and continued noisy work – including banging on the roof – until 8:30 PM on Wednesday, violating DC noise ordinances that typically require work to conclude by 7:30 PM. This put us at risk of a city violation. Throughout the entire process, communication was poor and the lack of consideration for our property and local regulations was deeply concerning. While I appreciate the attempt to make things right, the experience was ultimately not ideal and left us feeling very dissatisfied."
