"So this is going to be my first review online and I’ve decided to provide it because of both the size of the projects involved and the quality of service that I received. My family and I recently purchased a 45-year old fixer-upper in Northern Virginia, and the home needed major updates throughout. Two things that needed immediate attention were the original wood windows and the 30+ year old asphalt roof. After a referral from a co-worker, I reached out to Windows on Washington and spoke with Greg for help on the windows. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions, without any pressure to commit on the spot. The windows they use are very well-reviewed (Okna) and offered all of the features we were looking for. His quote for the 40+ windows and one new door was incredibly reasonable and less than other quotes I received. Based on the stellar feedback I’d already received about the company, I agreed to enlist them for the project. Their crew arrived on-time and spent two days doing an exceptional job installing everything. I watched them do the installations and everything was top notch. The windows dramatically improved the look and energy efficiency of the house, and the entire team could not have been more professional. I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone if you need replacement windows. During the discussion with Greg about windows, I mentioned the need for a new roof, specifically a new metal roof. He indicated that their company could also handle that project since the president of the company (Eric Novotny) was very knowledgeable about those. I spoke with Eric a couple of days later and discovered that he is part of an expert industry panel for the Metal Roofing Alliance. We went over all the options for installing a metal roof and he came out to our house to talk at length about what we could do. He provided a quote for the project a couple of days later which was very reasonable based on the research I had done and I signed up for that as well. Interestingly, the roof project was completed first (before the windows) and his team spent three days completing everything. The crews worked 12+ hour days to get things done and the work was all top notch. It was beautiful when it was finished and our family couldn’t be happier. As a follow up, two weeks after the roof was completed, I had a chimney cleaning / repair company come out to do some minor work. They ended up severely scratching all of the panels around the chimney in the process and I needed Eric’s team to fix it. He sent two guys out and they spent 12+ hours carefully removing what they had just installed and replacing everything exactly the way it was. I expected the cost for the repair to be significant, but I was very surprised that not only was the cost reasonable, but some of the same crew that did the initial installation were available to come out and do the repairs. It was a very confidence-inspiring extra step and further reassures me that we went with the right company. Overall, I can’t endorse this company and the people I interacted with enough. I didn’t have a single bad experience and I feel like the money we spent was an investment we will enjoy for decades to come. "It was time to replace my roof and I requested several estimates from roofing companies. I selected Marshall Roofing Siding and Windows. It was not the cheapest estimate but the estimate assessment by Mr. Chris Butler, of Marshall Roofing, was the most thorough. Mr. Butler inspected the roof, went into the attic (and found a bathroom vent venting into the attic instead of outside), went into my screened in porch to determine what kind of nails to use so that they would not come through the tongue and groove ceiling and he noticed some old satellite dishes that could be removed. Marshall roofing updated the proposal several times with all of my concerns and additions. This is great customer service! When it came to choosing a shingle color, we struggled to find the right color. Mr. Butler kindly offered to bring out additional shingle samples to us on a Friday afternoon. Again, above and beyond customer service. Mr. Butler also worked with us to find and install an attic fan specifically designed to be quiet when running. The job started promptly on time and was finished in two days. Mr. Butler came out as the job was wrapping up and when the crew finished packing up, on his own, he did a second magnetic sweep around my house to find any nails that may have been missed during the magnetic sweep performed by the crew. Again, great customer service! We are very happy with the workmanship and customer service that we received from Marshall Roofing and would highly recommend their services!!"

"It went exceptionally well from beginning to end. My contact with the company was through Chris and as I told him when the job was completed, it was the BEST experience I ever had with a contractor - and I have had more than a few contractors over the years. I received quotes from 2 contractors to install the window, and while Clifton charged more, I got more. Chris put me at ease from the very beginning about the install and possible water problems; it was obvious that this wasn't Chris' first install. He spent time with me going over all my questions and explaining in detail the project and how it would be done. He recommended some additional work involving drainage and landscaping and spelled out the pros and cons for each. He covered everything and when I got his proposal, it was all spelled out with options noted and additional costs. I got to pick what additions I wanted and how it would impact the cost of the contract. His crew showed up on time each day and worked hard from beginning to end. They kept me informed each step of the way and took care to keep the work area clean and safe. I was super impressed with their attitudes and friendliness. And most of all, I was super impressed with the professionalism of their work; the project totally exceeded my expectations. I am so glad that I opted for the more expensive contract in this case; it turned out so well for me. I wouldn't hesitate for one minute to have these folks do work for me again - they are really super!"

"Love our new Grand View Windows from Window Nation 17 Windows and 1 Sliding Glass Door We did quite a bit of research, explored a lot of companies and choose Window Nation for our project. And we are happy we did. The whole process from presentation to installation was easy and efficient. Reza arrived at our house on time for the presentation. He inspected and measured our windows and then launched into the presentation. Reza is knowledgeable about the Window Nation offering as well as the products offered by his competitors. As mentioned, I did some research and had an idea of the features that we wanted and what we should pay. Reza presented the Window Nation Grand View line, which meets our feature requirements, and after a bit of back-and-forth negotiation we settled on a price that was within our range and fair to us both. After signing, Reza described the next steps and set expectations. Overall, the presentation took only about an hour and was relatively painless, with no high-pressure tactics. Several days later, Mike came by to inspect our windows and confirm measurements for the build specifications. This took only about a half-hour. Mike answered some questions about the installation process and said that the windows and door could take up to 6 weeks to build. Imagine our surprise when we received a call a week later to schedule our installation. On installation day, the three-man team arrived on time. They introduced themselves and the team lead, Ted, described the process and then they got right to work. They tarped the paths to all the windows to protect the floors. They were very careful and respectful of our house. The entire team was friendly and polite and experienced and highly skilled. You could tell that they’d done this a time or two. The outside trim work is fantastic and the inside finish work is great. All 17 windows and the sliding door were installed in a single day. Ted went over the operation of the windows and door. The windows and door look and function great. We couldn’t be happier. If you are considering a window or door replacement project, we strongly recommend that you engage Window Nation. They will treat you right."

"Unprofessional visit. Showed up unannounced and we only knew they were there because one person stood 10 feet from our porch staring at us in through our living room window. My wife spent 10 minutes talking to them, they stated they had no business cards, they only had an appointment card but didn't present it. Honestly when you show up at someone's house you need some sort of identifier if your walking door to door in casual clothes. After the uncomfortable dead stare through the windows my wife and i have decided to post a No Solicitors sign. They didn't take no for an answer at first, pushing with more questions to circumvent the no she gave, as well as interrupted our dinner, as they showed up right at 6pm."

"Avoid Power Home Remodeling at all costs. This was one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever had with a company. I’ll be actively warning everyone I know to stay far away, and I truly hope this review helps others do the same. A representative from Powers came to my door and said they were doing work in the neighborhood. He offered a free quote on a new roof. I didn’t have time that day, so we scheduled a follow-up for Saturday morning. I assumed it would be straightforward—measure the roof, give me a quote. Oh, how wrong I was. On Saturday, a completely different representative showed up and proceeded to deliver a five-hour sales pitch. I made it clear from the start that I was only looking for a roof quote—but instead, I got a relentless push for add-ons like doors, gutters, and radiant barriers. He brought out props, used aggressive high-pressure tactics, and repeatedly tried to get me to sign on the spot—despite me stating multiple times that I wasn’t making any decisions that day. The entire experience felt deceptive, exhausting, and borderline coercive. I didn’t agree to a five-hour in-home ambush—I just wanted a quote. Power Home Remodeling will waste your time and try to pressure you into overpriced services, and make it extremely difficult to get them to leave, even after you’ve clearly said no."
