"I thought he did a good job explaining what he did do but very disappointed they didn't explain that you had to pay a lot extra money to actually find out what kind of mold if any you had. The $199.00 fee they only looked for mold & tested the air quality. If they found any mold it cost a lot more to find out what type. He did say we had mold in our crawl space but not what kind, that cost more money. Overall good for what he did do."

"Scott Gustafson gave me an estimate and did the work. He was on time, pleasant and professional. And neat - no mess left at all. Afterwards, I paid the bill on line and received a detailed analysis of the mold and air quality. This is a different way of treating mold than the older method of tearing everything apart."

"Austin is easy to work with and exhibited a professional demeanor in all ways. He was realistic in what he could achieve for me without making me feel that my situation was hopeless as others I talked to about testing were. His report was thorough and suggestions to improve air quality were realistic without being profiteering. Most air quality testers hope to profit from mitigation but his business model is just testing and suggested mitigation without him making money off the mitigation."

"Very good. This was our first time having this done so we didn't know what questions to ask to get a complete estimate. Because of this they added extra services to ensure we would be happy with their work. Very polite and clean. Would definitely hire them again."

Our approach goes far beyond basic air sampling and microscope spore counts.\n\nOur Inspection Process Includes:\n • Full roof-to-ground exterior inspection to identify moisture entry points\n • Complete interior assessment with thermal imaging and moisture mapping\n • HVAC system inspection for mold-prone conditions and contamination\n • Collection of air, surface (swab), and dust samples\n • All samples analyzed in our in-house laboratory\n\nWhy qPCR Mold Testing Matters\nTraditional mold testing relies on visual spore counts, which cannot reliably determine whether mold is toxic, allergenic, or actively growing.\n\nWe use qPCR (quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction) technology to:\n • Detect mold using DNA-based identification\n • Target specific molds associated with allergens and mycotoxins\n • Identify mold that may be hidden \n • Deliver objective, defensible data for remediation decisions\n\n

FAQs for indoor air quality testing projects in Waterloo, IA

You should test your home's air quality if you or your family experience health problems like allergies or respiratory issues, as these could be linked to indoor contaminants. Also, consider testing if you're concerned about mold, radon, carbon monoxide, or if you've recently had home construction, demolition, excavation, or remodeling that could have released chemicals into your indoor air.

An indoor air quality test typically takes one to three hours to complete. After the inspection, you'll receive a detailed written report within two to 10 days. The evaluation includes comprehensive air sampling from all designated areas in your home. Your specialist will review the findings with you and provide clear guidance on steps to take if any issues are found, helping ensure your indoor environment meets health and safety standards.

A certified indoor air quality consultant or inspector is the right professional to perform your indoor air test. While some home inspectors have certifications, they often subcontract this specialized work to trained professionals with advanced tools. This expert will thoroughly evaluate air samples from every area in your home and clearly explain the findings to you. Be sure to confirm your tester's credentials before scheduling your service.
