Our casement window also needed it's operator crank replaced and that was another job completed perfectly. Ribba Woodworking was on time, friendly, and always professional. Very talented individuals. "He was terminated by my lawyer and was reported to the consumer protection department. He installed recessed lights in the kitchen and living room. None of them work. It cannot be turned off in the living room and it doesn't work at all in the kitchen. In addition to that, all electric outlets lost power in the kitchen. He was dragging a 2 weeks project into 4 weeks. He disappeared after saying he didn't know how to fix it. Also all bathroom and kitchen plumbing works wrong. Leaking and improperly connected. He always sends workers from the street. Very rarely show up. Coming very late and disappearing . He got money (100% painting, 50% kitchen, 50% flooring), but he asked $700 more for the incomplete flooring work. He called police to have his few items left because he never showed up again. He got his belongings under the police observation. His cabinet installation, the kitchen cabinet store manager was laughing because he installed the top first which had a 3 inches gap between the ceiling and the cabinet. The store manager said that he had never seen anything like this before. I had to hire the electrical company, the plumber and handyman to fix all of his work. Paid $3,800 to them."

Pocket doors are more expensive than standard pre-hung doors. After creating space, a new frame and track are installed so the door functions properly.
You can use some standard doors as pocket doors, but they must fit the required dimensions. The door has to slide smoothly into the wall cavity, so it must be the right size and thickness. Also, any existing hardware holes need to be adjusted or covered up to work correctly, increasing labor costs.
For a pocket door, you need enough wall space for the door to slide into. A standard 32-inch-wide door requires about 66 inches of wall space in total—including the doorway and the pocket. The wall you install it in should be at least four inches deep to fit the door's thickness.
Installing a pocket door usually takes about six to 12 hours. If your project requires extra work like wall modifications or electrical adjustments, it might take a couple of days. The exact time depends on your home's layout, the type of door you’re installing, and the complexity of the project.
Removing a pocket door involves more than just taking down the door. You'll likely need to open up the wall to access the door mechanism, adjust any wiring or plumbing inside, and then rebuild the wall afterward. Costs can range from $1,000 to $3,200, depending on how much work is needed.
