"The service performed was actually the removal of an old outdoor underground oil tank.-( there was no category for this.) I had an immediate response and quote for the job, and the removal was done within the week. They were very prompt ,professional, courteous, and thorough. We were totally satisfied with the job,- and they were very conscious of our lawn, it looked terrific when it was done. Would recommend this company to anyone without hesitation."

"Sean Farrell was very accommodating and prompt. The man who worked the heavy equipment was a master operator and conductor as he led the ream of laborers and drivers throughout the complex process We couldn't be more pleased. Specifics follow: What we needed: -Removal of pool, equipment and surrounding cement walkways. Complicated by being located directly behind the house. -Done in winter to lessen collateral damage and to ease maneuvering of heavy equipment. Also give more settling time before new patio installed. -We acted as our own general contractor. We provided plans, elevations, and did permitting for town. We sought a clean compacted fill so that the area could be buildable in the future. Decision to Remove: -We had lived in the home for 12 years, carefully maintaining the pool to keep the liner as long as possible, knowing that at 50 years, the pool would require a major renovation rather than a simple liner change. Our decision making process was over a 5 year period when we explored various options, and costs. -We finally decided to remove the pool, as although it had been so much fun, it was also a lot of work. Our daughters were off to college, and gave us a view of not having their help as they moved on! -we had noticed much less usage as they grew up and had jobs. -We wanted heat in the pool much more than we used to! Preparation: -We drained the pool in the winter! This is a balance between wanting it warm enough to stay liquid, but remaining cold enough for the actual excavation. We had to be able to get through the ice to get the pump in. As the water level went down, the ice broke up, but by the time it was at the deep end, it shredded the old liner, leaking water to the dirt below. This had to be scooped out by excavator to allow for proper compaction. -We also moved any pavers, gravel, or equipment that we could re-purpose. -The operator and driver came the afternoon before to assess the situation, and make their plans. Day of Demolition: -The trucks and team arrived early in the morning. They backed in our driveway expeditiously. They were never at the site all at once, but were rotating in and out at the situation required. -They first cut the cement slabs surrounding the pool coping. This was the messiest part of job and required our garden hose and water to keep saw cool, and dust down. -The team was well orchestrated without wasted steps. -The pool debris was placed on the shallow end to allow the fill to be dumped and compacted in the deep end, and then the dump truck was filled with the debris. The clean fill was mixed with the sand that had surrounded the pool. This process was repeated many times during the day. -The resulting gravel pad mimics the dimensions of our soon to be installed patio."

"Had some water seepage that occasionally appeared in one spot in my basement after heavy rains. Suspected a crack in the foundation. Tom came out and was able to quickly help me determine that it wasn't a foundation issue."

"These guys are great! The man who came to estimate the job had a medical emergency after leaving our home leaving the company very short handed. His partner not only got the information from our site visit but got our job scheduled within a week! He also pointed out some very ergent safety issues with our flexible gas line installed in 2000, but also saw an issue with our water heater put in by a subcontractor from Columbia Gas. Not only was the water heater not installed properly putting our safety at risk then we found out it was NEVER inspected by the city! They showed up on time and completed the job on time within their quote. They cleaned up after the job and were pleasent and curteous. I would highly recommend this company to anyone wanting a plumbing job to be done without being taken to the cleaners."

"Very well. The crew did a very thorough job removing the old and damaged mortarwork, and since they used a power washer as well as rock hammers the basement was quite a lot cleaner when they left than when they started. The worked quickly, cleaned up thoroughly, found and fixed more than expected, and completed ahead of schedule and on budget."

FAQs for water or fuel tank remove projects in Weston, MA

There are several reasons why you might need to remove an oil tank. In some areas, local regulations require tanks to be removed after a certain period. Leaking tanks can pose hazards to drinking water and the environment. Plus, many municipalities won't allow property sales until an inspection confirms the oil tank is safe.

One option for disposing of an oil tank is to have your removal pro take it to a dismantling yard or salvage yard for recycling. If a salvage yard isn’t an option, you can contact a local landfill or a local oil tank removal service for help finding a proper disposal location for your tank. Typically, you’ll need to show there’s no sludge or residue in the tank.

A leaking oil tank reveals itself through increased energy bills and a noticeable oily sheen on water surfaces, which signals a malfunction. You may also experience strong oil odors and observe stained grass and deteriorating vegetation near your property. These clear warning signs demand immediate professional evaluation to protect the environment and secure your property’s safety.

Yes, states mandate soil testing during oil tank removal to detect hazardous pollutants that harm the environment. This testing confirms that no soil contamination exists. Certified specialists collect soil samples to meet regulatory requirements and ensure property safety. Conducting these tests protects water quality and the structure’s integrity while immediately triggering any necessary remediation measures.
