James was professional, knowledgeable and detailed about the repair needed to be done and the options available to us including cost comparison. "I called Derick initially to check our 13-year old Sears washer that had stopped running during the spin cycle. He determined it was just a switch and replaced it. It has worked fine since. He also checked our dryer vent to make sure it was clear. While on the call he also helped me to move the refrigerator out from the wall and check the drain pipe for the freezer that was plugged up and not defrosting properly. He fixed that also. Just this week I called him again to check the water line in our fridge that was not pumping right. With his help we determined it was a faulty filter I had just replaced. He charged me nothing for the visit, but I tipped him. Derick is very professional, punctual and no BS; he actually wears a uniform and yes, a blue tie! He does charge a service fee but with that and the new washer switch it all came to $200, which is a heck of a lot cheaper than having to buy a new washer! Tip - he says if you have an older washer or dryer, try to keep it as long as you can to avoid all the problems with the new-fangled electronic and web-connected features. Really, do you need to talk to your washer or have your washer talk to your stove??!! "Alexa - Get a life people !" But I digress. Thanks Derick. If I have any more problems with my appliances in the future I will definitely be calling the "Blue Tie Guy" first !"

"I was searching Home Warranty providers after a bad experience with my 7 year, soon to be terminated "former" Fidelity Home Warranty service provider. Warranty service providers are essential, for they step in and "act" when life deals you an "Oh Crap" situation like your refrigerator suddenly quits. Every high dollar appliance in a home has a life span that will end whether your prepared for it or not. It's a common occurance that leads to unexpected higher debt concerns while you frantically attempt to save your food from going bad. Got a minimum of $1,700 to get a new one? A truck or a really good friend to borrow theirs to pick it up? Plus time to allow it to achieve proper temperature to transfer your temp sensitive food! Well if you haven't experienced this type of event, in your life, you will! I began by doing some easy research online like searching for best Home Warranty providers. I put some inquiries out to prospective providers and as expected, the sales calls began to ring on my phone. They all have why "they" are the best provider - so take notes and compare policies. Ask whether they cover swimming pools, septic systems, roof repairs etc. So my phone rings with an out-of-state area code and it's Zach from Choice Home Warranty. While on the call, this enthusiastic salesman hit all the "trigger" items I was looking for; *Annual Service Price *Price per claim deductable *Response time You know, all the "need to know" info that helps you make an informative decision. I started paying $550/year 7 years ago in 2014 with my old service provider. The per claim fee was $65. Today in 2022, it's $710/year and $85/claim. Was it worth it you ask? If I figure the math, my total cost over 7 years and only 4 claims was $4,450 or $636/year. This cost paid to replace my pools salt cell and chlorine generator ($1,800 in parts alone), 2 separate Air Conditioner repairs which replaced the coil fan motor, a circuit board replacement, system coil cleansing, relays and a capacitor. (No idea of how much my total cost would have been. I paid $65 twice. Nice huh?) 1 roof repair that replaced the "Cricket", which is a 15' roof section elevational change just below the ridge line. It's important to remember that these repairs don't include "hidden costs" which are personnel and service labor rates. Something you will pay for without a Warranty Service. Here's the best part of the call from this AWESOME salesman. He offered me 6 year "fully transferable", rate locked for life" service policy that when divided out by 6 is LESS THAN WHAT I WAS PAYING ANNUALLY, 7 YEARS AGO!!! So, is a Home Warranty plan a safe bet??? I have a 9 word answer for those without a Choice Home Warranty service plan. YOU BET YOUR DRIPPING SWEATY BUTT CRACK IT IS!!! Props to Zach, YOU DA MAN!!!
