He came to the rescue & did whatever it took to get the job done on time and on budget. He is highly skilled and capable. Several times during the job he suggested things that would enhance the finished product. In doing so he created more work for himself. These upgrades probably added a full day of additional work. He didn't change the cost for the job, he just wants his customers to be happy. His attention to detail and cleanliness blew our minds. He spent a full day getting the room taped off to prevent dust from spreading throughout the house. A full day!?!? And it paid off when the work was done...we're not even hiring a cleaner. "I hired DS General Services Corp (Mr. Wehlington Da Silva) to refinish hardwood floors on the first floor; remove wall-to-wall carpet, remove vinyl floors and refinish the original hardwood floors on the second floor; and install new luxury vinyl plank flooring in our attic and basement. In other words, he and his team re-did all of the floors in the house from top to bottom. Wehlington and his crew arrived on time every morning at 7am and worked straight through each day until 5pm to 7pm. The crew was polite, courteous and professional. Wehlington consulted with me when necessary, but otherwise he was a man of few words. His actions spoke volumes: He was careful, professional, detail-oriented, committed to excellence, and took pride in the high quality of his workmanship. Wehlington advised me on what type of flooring to get, where to get it, and about how much different grades would cost. The converted garage must be attached to your home and include permanent features like proper insulation, finished walls and ceilings, and adequate ventilation. It should be suitable for year-round living, with heating and cooling systems to maintain comfortable temperatures in all seasons. Meeting these standards allows the converted space to be included in your home's total square footage, potentially increasing its value.
In most cases, you do not need to hire an architect for a garage conversion. An experienced garage conversion contractor usually has the skills to help create your desired design and ensure the project meets building codes. However, if your conversion involves complex structural changes or a large-scale redesign, hiring an architect can be beneficial. An architect can provide detailed plans and oversee the design to maximize space and functionality, ensuring the conversion aligns with your vision and complies with all regulations.
