"I've been living in New York City for over 20 years and have worked with other contractors before, and have never found the right fit until now. Hussein is a great collaborator and understood exactly what we needed and how to get it done right. He was always easy to reach via text or phone. The materials he used were of top quality. His team worked non-stop for two weeks in my loft while Hussein checked in daily. I was working from home a lot during this work and could see the dedication to details and how hard they worked. They were meticulous, always on time, polite, quiet, (and non-smokers)! Once the job was done the bill matched the quote. Everything looks so beautiful now, even better than I had imagined! The total job included building a room, which included framing, sheetrock, plumbing, electric, painting entire loft and demolition."

"I hired BEX Contracting to repair the and paint the wall after electricians had installed wall mounted nightstands on my bedroom. Bex and his team closed the wall to perfect finish and painted my room. They were careful to cover the furniture and protect the floors. I highly recommend BEX Contracting"

"From the moment the SCHiM team stepped over the threshold of our home, we knew we were in the hands of master contractors. In fact, we've done a number of projects over the years but SCHiM was the most professional and meticulous contractor experience that we have had to date. In 2022, we did a full interior renovation where the liner in our bathroom was not properly installed, and the pitch of the shower was terribly off. These egregious errors resulted in water damage on our first floor and many, many hours of stress and heartache. SCHiM made our bathroom more beautiful than it was in the first place and for that, we could not be more thankful"

HomeAdvisor makes it easy to connect with pros near you. You can read reviews, get quotes and book appointments all in one place.
Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
