"I called Window World (WW) based on the recommendations found on Angie's List.  A salesperson came to my house to measure and give me the price estimate.  He was very friendly and knowledgeable, but I had to "slow him down" several times to re-direct him to some particular questions I had.  He responded well to that and answered every question I asked.  I had thought I wanted casement windows, but he talked me out of those, although WW does provide them.  In the end, I was grateful for this because there were considerations with casements I hadn't known about or thought of, and my final decision to go with double-hung was the right one.
Approx. three weeks later (as promised) the windows arrived and I was contacted by a scheduler to have them installed.  The two installers arrived when they said they would.  They worked efficiently, and from all I can tell, did a very good job.  One small thing I regretted was that they were both smokers.  They didn't smoke in my house, of course, but I would have been happier if they hadn't smoked, at all, on my premises.  (I realize this is probably an extreme view, but it impacted by comfort level so I thought I'd mention it.)  The installers were courteous, friendly, helpful with my questions, and patient with a couple of things about the installation that they had to explain to me twice.  I had expected them to leave the windows completely clean when they left, but each window had to be cleaned to remove "scuff marks" of caulk.  They weren't large, but there were several on each window, both inside and out.  This was a little disappointing. 
Subsequent to the installation I had to have a clip replaced on one of the windows that allows the window to be tilted open to clean.  The repair took about 15 minutes, and was done without fuss or bother. 
Overall, I was very satisfied with this experience, and I love the windows.

"VP did exactly what I wanted. (Forgot the gentleman’s name). The pro that came out did a great job!!! Plan on having then out again to do additional to do the whole out side enclosure and to do the roof of the enclosure. great job! Would definitely recommend!!"

Ive done some plumbing and garage door services and now for full time I build high end metal building! JD and his crew were fantastic! The estimate was competitive with other bidders and we felt the value of their services was very high. We had extensive wood rot damage around most of the windows in our house. JD and his crew were very detailed and careful as they removed the old windows, repaired the wood rot, and installed the new windows. The locations that were leaking before the window installation are leaking no more. Wood Rot Solutions also repaired rot on the exterior of our house, including trim and siding. Everything was caulked well and it was easy for the painters once they arrive. (Note: painting was not part of Wood Rot Solutions scope.) JD and his crew were very professional. They kept the interior of the house clean and even worked around our child's naptimes. We are VERY happy with our new windows.

"In mid-May, I had a salesperson come to my home to get a quote on the repair of siding around different parts of my home, as well as a couple windows to be replaced. This went fine and was quoted a certain amount with 1) the understanding that I would be told if they found more bad siding to let me know and 2) to use my paint so it would match. I paid my 10% and was
told it would be about 6 weeks before they would get to my home.  I purchased about $100 dollars of the exact paint color for the workers once the time came.
I had contacted the company in June to let them know that we would be out for about 2 weeks in July on vacation and told them the date ranges. A week before we left on vacation, I contacted them again to let them know and was told they would let the job supervisor know.
The day I left for vacation, I was notified that they were at my home and ready to begin work. I told them that this wouldn?t be possible until I returned.
Forward to mid-August. Again I had workers show up unannounced at our home to begin work. I was fine with it, but would have
preferred an alert a few days prior.
Monday, the first day of work, the workers fixed the siding on one part of the home.
Day two, it rained and no one had shown up at all.
Day three, old windows pulled and replaced, more siding repaired/replaced. In the evening of day three, I noticed soft siding on the one side that should have been replaced. Additionally, I had some trim inside my home broken during the replacement of the old windows. I left a message with company with my concerns.
On day four, a supervisor came by my home in the evening, looked at the windows (which were very loose on the inside), the trim, and the siding. He said the trim and windows would be fixed and threw out a price for the additional siding. I was more than happy to have the additional siding fixed and was fine with the quoted cost. I was told people would be at my home
Friday and Saturday to get the job finished.
On day five, a single worker had shown up to replace the soft panels on the side of my home and dress the front windows.  After he left, I noticed the window trim outside looked terrible, dented and stained.
Day six, Saturday, no one had shown in the morning. I received a call from another person later that morning. He told me he would be coming by to check out the windows later in the afternoon. He did show at the scheduled time, checked out the windows and looked dissatisfied with the work that was done. He adjusted the windows and they were finally working like they
should. They seem to be great windows. He looked at the trim outside around the windows and said it didn?t look good and was going to have someone fix it the next week.
On Monday, day seven, the painters had shown up at my home around 2:30. They caulked, painted, and fixed the trim around the windows. I noticed later that evening that the paint I provided them was not used at all. They had taken a chip of my old paint and had it matched. They proceeded to paint with that color. It was slightly off and very noticeable. I told them in a phone call that evening that it was the wrong paint, even though my wife had pointed out the paint to the painters when they arrived. Instead of going by what the contract had stated and what they had been told two times verbally, they still painted it incorrectly. They promised to paint it again but use my paint.
On Tuesday, day eight, they had painted the outside with the correct paint and fixed the trim in my home. At this point, I was told someone would show on Wednesday around 5:30 to collect, which I was fine with.
No one came by on Wednesday at all.
On Thursday, I was finally contacted. I paid the gentleman that arrived at my home and let him know what I ran into during this job. It was primarily communication that was my biggest issue. No one seemed to know what others were doing and some of the worker skills weren?t as good as what I would have expected.  He discounted my total a bit and was on his way. He didn?t disagree with me but it seemed like he may be going through this type of scenario more often than he wanted to.
A couple days later, I went to paint a big on one of the rooms where trim was replaced. The trim was not installed as well as I would have expected and had a few broken parts that I wouldn?t have caught had I not been on a ladder. I repaired them myself and proceeded with the painting.
Overall, I don?t think I could go with this company again based upon my experience. It?s a bit stressful when something that could have taken 3 to 3 ½ days is extended to a little more than a week. I think this company has good intentions, but the project management is the biggest weakness. The communication between the salesman, the company, the supervisors,
the workers, and the customer is a mess. I felt like I had to manage this project myself, and it?s sad to have to
locate the issues and point them out when a good job foreman/supervisor could show up and make certain the job is being done right.  
My recommendation to this company is to improve communication, supervise the workers, inspect the job, and find a better skilled person to install the windows than the guy that did mine.

"Needed to replace and repair lots of rotten wood, and peeling paint on the house. looked at several options, and Continental worked hard to earn my business. They made a great sell, and provided financing that worked within my budget. It may have taken a while to get the actual work started (due in part to the COVID pandemic slowing everything down) but they called me every two weeks with an update on my position in line. The house looks fantastic, and I never need to worry about rotten siding again. Would highly recommend."

"On 6/2/13 - 6/3/13,  I had 13 Heartland double-hung, awning, picture windws, PVC capping on the exterior, windows installed.  Michelle was a very effective communicator and she always kept contact and readily availale for any questions I may have had or unsure of throughout the process.  She basically walked me through everything they were going to do.  I had explained to her previously about my past experience with contractors not being on the job or not living up to their end of the bargain. She assured me that she was very involved and handson.  Any movement of furniture or picking up trash and debris was done by the installer.  I didn't have to lift a finger unless I wanted too, only to help out.  I even asked about some trimming on a window that was not installed, only becaus it could be seen from the street and it was included in the install.  I was charged a small fee of $35.00 for the window trim.   

I have noticed a big difference from my old windows to new windows.  This past summer, I didn't run my air conditioner too much and when I did, it stayed really cool in my house.  Now that the winter is approaching, I hope to feel the benefits of my purchase.

I only had one incident of the installer breaking a portion of my window shade when putting it back on the hard ware.  I had not notice this until after we did our final walk thru.  I called Michelle when I noticed it and she was willing to replace the shade.  I have been very busy but will get around to taking care of it this weekend so I can provide her a written estimate.

Michelle also does follow-ups to see if you are having problems. I explained, I had a problem with the energy auditor not following up on his end of the deal with some insulation work, he would tie into his post visit to grant me a bigger savings on my rebate.  I told her, we had made an appointment for August, but he was a no show or no call.  I also mentioned, I had not seen my energy credit on my electric bill.  She assured me she would take care of this problem to get someone back out there to take care of my situation.   

I would definitely recommend Morning Star Windows to others because I really like the customer service they provide as well as following up on the post installation.  I like giving small business owners a shot.  If this business continue good customer service, she will never have to worry about going out of business.  I can see this company being around for a long time.

He answered his phone or returned our call quickly every time we had a question. For his siding crew, he hires actual skilled craftsmen who clearly pride themselves on a job well done. They worked from sun up to sun down for six days in the cold wind. And they're meticulous. They cleaned up everything and even wiped the dust from each board before they were finished! Our house looks amazing. They did a fantastic job! I’ll be calling him again when we’re ready to replace all of our windows."
